Our Broadcast Policy
Portable livestreaming comes with a variety of challenges, especially in Tasmania. Broadcasts hosted by Praxis Multimedia typically stream over the mobile network and require 4G or 5G coverage. To ensure the best possible connection, we have invested in professional-grade networking equipment as well as 5dbi & 7dbi antennas to boost our speeds and range, these are ideal for rural locations and act like ears to hear even the smallest signal from long distances.
Unfortunately, even the most sensitive ears cannot hear a voice if it is too far away from the source, network signals are the same. In some cases, the network's "voice" simply isn't loud enough or close enough to hear, even with professional gear.
In situations like these, this is our policy:
- We will always record a high-quality version of the livestream to be made available shortly after an event on the same day of the service, within reason. Expected upload time is posted with the stream in the event of a dropout.
- Minor dropouts can and do occur, this is simply a trait of portable livestreaming. These mostly present themselves as video stutters, but can also be 5-10 second dropouts in the stream. Far less often they can also be a couple of minutes long. In general, the further away a service is from urban infrastructure, the more likely it is that brief interruptions will take place. We do not offer discounts or refunds for such issues.
- In rare cases a major outage or network failure may occur. Our policy defines a major dropout as at least 5 minutes of sustained downtime. In such cases, the family/client will be entitled to a discount or refund by Praxis Multimedia to be agreed upon by both parties.
- We are proud to have a 99.6% success rate, 15,000+ watch hours, 700+ livestreams & over 100,000 views on broadcasts hosted by Praxis Multimedia. Thankyou for choosing us for your next event.
